Getting to Dar Lazuli
Dar Lazuli is located just inside Essaouira’s historic medina walls and beside the main square, a two minute walk from the beach.
From Place Moulay Hassan
Dar Lazuli is just a five minute stroll from Place Moulay Hassan. From the Place, head away from the port towards the right-hand corner of the square by the blue canopy of Café Bachir. Continue down the alleyway inside the city wall and take the first turning on the left before Villa Maroc, down Rue Mouss Ben Noussaire (written on a red sign). Finally, turn right and you’ll see Dar Lazuli’s white door lit at the end of the passageway.
From Bab Sbaa
If you arrive by taxi, you’ll be dropped at Bab Sbaa. Walk through the archway and continue straight ahead through the next archway (with music shops inside) underneath the clock tower. Turn left immediately and at Villa Maroc turn right, then right again and you’ll see Dar Lazuli’s white door lit at the end of the passageway.
From the Supratours bus station
The Supratours bus station is less than a 10 minute walk from Dar Lazuli. From the station, head west towards the sea along the outside of the medina walls. Keep going until you get to the blue taxi rank. Turn right through the archway there called Bab Sbaa. Go through the second archway with a CD shop in it and a clock tower above it and turn immediately left. At Villa Maroc, turn right and then right again and you’ll see Dar Lazuli at the end of the passageway. If you have any problems, just ask someone for directions to Villa Maroc.
“The instructions that Rachel gave us to get from the bus station to the Riad were spot on (10 min walk) and we were met there by Rachid who is a lovely man.” – Timmytank on TripAdvisor.
